Whiskey Review: Knob Creek Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Named after a famous creek where Abraham Lincoln grew up, this straight bourbon whiskey is one of the most famous brands in the market. This brand of whiskey is one of the products produced by Jim Beam in Clermont, KY. Knob Creek is a classic bourbon whiskey that you can see in any bar.

There has been a lot of debate when it comes to classic bourbon and Knob Creek is no exception. Whether or not it still remains as one of the top classic bourbon drinks depends on the opinion of the general public, specifically whiskey enthusiasts. Here’s our review of this famous whiskey.

A blast of oak will greet you upon opening of the bottle. The strong smell of old oak lingers all throughout the glass when you pour it. There’s a hint of sweet and spicy caramel with a bit of rye underneath it all. Aromas of maple syrup and peppermint can also be smelled when you keep it on the glass for a short while.

Immediately upon sipping, the taste of old oak and caramel can be tasted. Flavors such as maple, nut oil, and a little bit of spice can be felt across the tongue. Letting it stay in your mouth for a while you can taste a bit of dark chocolate and nut oil.

The finish reveals a very interesting aftertaste of caramel and dry vanilla. Having a higher proof compared to other brands give it a very dry finish. What lingers the most in your mouth is the taste of old oak and spices that are made perfect for this brand.
